What services and spaces in McCain Library are visitors permitted to use?
Our services extend to students, alumnae, family of faculty and staff, ARCHE interlibrary use patrons, and public visitors to the college.
To learn more about what digital resources are available to visitors, see the Access to Computers & Electronic Resources page. For more information on alumnae access to certain databases, visit the Alumnae Access to Databases page.
The following services are not available to alumnae or other guest visitors:
- Use of reservable group study rooms and media viewing rooms. These are in high demand by our students. Try Decatur Public Library.
- Off-campus/remote access to GALILEO and/or other online library research databases.
- However, alumnae may request off-campus access to two specially licensed databases.
- Individuals in Georgia may obtain a GALILEO databases password from their public library.
- Visitors may access the library's database collection while on campus by using the short-term computers in the lobby (30 minutes per day).
- Borrowing of audiovisual materials (such as DVDs) or audiovisual equipment (such as projectors).
- Placing of holds and recalls on books in McCain Library's collections.
- ARCHE interlibrary use cards.
- Interlibrary loan, although you may contact your own academic or public library to request ILL through them.
