Printing from a McCain Library computer is a two-step process:

Step One: Send Your Document to the Printer:

  • Login to the computer with your network ID and password
  • Open the document you plan to print
  • Click “Print” (which may be located under “File” in the document menu)
  • Select “Scottie Printing on Firestar” as the printer
  • Click “Print”

Step Two: Release Print Job from the Queue

  • To release your print job, visit any of the following print stations:
    • Floor 1 (behind the elevator)
    • Ground Floor (in a room behind the spiral stairs)
    • Ground Floor (CDVL hallway, outside of the door into main library space)
  • Tap your ASC ID card on the white card reader on top of the Canon printer
  • Tap/Select “Secure Print”
  • Select the job(s) you want to print
  • Select “Options” to verify settings and change as needed (single-sided to double, color to b&w, etc.)
  • Select “Print”
  • Select “Logout” and then “Logout” again
  • A stapler is built into a slot on the front of the machine. Slide your pages until you hear it click

Note: Scottie Firestar stores your print job(s) for 24 hours, so you could print at a Canon elsewhere on campus if that is more convenient than the library.
