Most databases are subscription-based tools that require users to verify their permission to access the tool with a username and/or password. All of McCain’s database subscriptions are listed on the Databases A-Z list on McCain Library's website. Students, faculty, and staff all have access to these databases after entering their network ID and password once prompted.
Sometimes, students, faculty, and staff find a database they want to use when they are searching the internet. If the resource is not available on McCain Library's Databases A-Z list, McCain Library does not provide access to the tool. If the resource, however, is one that McCain Library does subscribe to, it is possible that student, faculty, or staff members may log in to the database directly by locating the OpenAthens login options.
